The group of Prof. Dr. Dagmar Wachten at the Institute of Innate Immunity University of Bonn, Medical Faculty, is looking for a

PhD student (m/f/d)

The position is limited until 31.12.2025.

The position is part of the SFB/TRR333 on “Brown and Beige Fat – Organ Crosstalk, Signaling

and Energetics (BATenergy)”, funded by the DFG. The project will focus on the role of cAMP

signaling in brown adipose tissue under physiological and pathological conditions.

The PhD position will be integrated into the doctoral program of the SFB and the Bonn International Graduate School of the University of Bonn. The curriculum integrates cutting-edge technologies and seminars on methods and science. A mentoring and reporting program dedicated to monitoring students’ progress and assisting them in choosing courses best suited

to their thesis project is provided.

• M.Sc. degree in biology, cell biology, or biochemistry or a medical degree
• Experience in at least one of the following topics: microscopy (e.g., confocal or
• Spinning disk microscopy), cell biology, primary tissue culture;
• Fluent in English
• Preferably programming skills (Java, R) and experience with mice

• A salary according to the German salary scale TV-L E13
• “Jobticket” (subsidized public transport) is available
• Possibility to use the day care center
