The project aims to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying primary cilia dysfunction in the kidney during the development of polycystic kidney disease. We combine state-of-the-art
techniques combining optogenetics and imaging to investigate signaling in subcellular compartments and study cell-cell communication in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo.
As part of the Bonn Excellence Cluster ImmunoSensation2, funded by the DFG, we offer a great environment for young researchers. The Institute of Innate Immunity is located in the BMZ-II at the Venusberg-Campus, which was opened in 2020 and offers state-of-the-art laboratory space and research facilities.
The position is to be filled as soon as possible as a full time position and is initially granted for a period of 2 years with the possibility of one year extension.
